Had a decent run in the afternoon.  The weather is just about perfect.  My quads are still sore.   I'm hoping they'll be ready for the 5K on Sat. It was probably stupid to schedule a race so soon but I really want to race more this year.  I am still trying to talk my wife into the 8 hour trail run in August.  I can't see how that will be any worse than the 50K in South Carolina on June 26th.

Nice job at Sweetwater, that is definitely on my list one of these years, but I am on a quest to run a sub 3 marathon before I transition to Ultra runs ... love the trails though! What race are you doing this weekend? Hope to meet you at a race this year ... then again, maybe not ... I like to at least have a chance of winning the Masters Division! :)

thanks JG - I am doing the Beat the Street for Little Feet. It is in the Kirkwood/Edgewood area of Atlanta. It'll be a nice little warmup run to get there in the morning. Yeah we are bound to see each other at one of these races. Do you do any of the Atlanta Track club races?

Ahhh ... gotta love a warm-up jog to the start line ... I would have marathon mileage under my belt if I did that, but don't think it would be too safe running down 400! :) I have not done any of the smaller ATC races, although have thought about doing the Grand Prix series next year, but I tend to pick races in closer proximity to where I live. I am doing kind of a neat race this Saturday in Suwannee, the Blimpie Fitness Challenge ... 5k at 7:30 & 10k at 8:30. I am going for a PR in the 5k, so not sure what I will have left for the 10k, but figure it will be a fun way to get some faster training miles in! Hope your Sweetwater recovery continues & best of luck on Saturday!

The ATC grand prix series is good. I try to do as many as I can every year. It usually comes up to 6 or so. Very strong competition at all of them for sure.

Good luck on Saturday - Have fun with the double race!

Thanks Tim ... I know the ATC races have some strong competition ... I am hoping with another 4 months consistent training under my belt, I will be condition to at least post some respectable times at them. My goal races I am training for right now are Peachtree (as I managed to secure a sub-seed corral this year) & then the US10k Classic on Labor Day. From there I will increase mileage for a fall marathon, yet tbd.
