Chrys took the kids and Grandma to the mall to look at furniture, so I took a nice long run down to Peachtree..  It is a perfectly beautiful day here.  Low 70's and a light breeze.  Tons of people down at at Peidmont park (which is like Atlanta's version of Central park).

I ate too much last night, so I had plenty of stored energy.  I felt good the whole way.  I just took it easy sneezy
took some powerade but didn't drink but maybe 6 oz.
lost at least 2 min at traffic lights -- lots of red lights today

16 at 7:40 average pace.

Weight: 144.00

There are a lot of people who would be crazy happy if they could run 1 mile at 7:40 and 16 at that pace is "easy sneezy" for you. Nice!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and welcome aboard. I think you will like it here. With 16 @ 7:40 I think you'll have no problem lowering that 2:53. What marathon was it at and where in the world are you?

For me my main goal is just getting rid of this knee pain. I've set this year to easy (and I mean really easy mileage) then next year I'll look to competing again.

Adam - that time was at the Chickamauga Battlefield marathon just south of Chattanooga, TN. I'm in Atlanta.

Good luck with the knee, man.

So what is your next marathon or are you going to focus on shorter stuff to get faster?

The knee is much better today but it has been hit or miss going on 6-months now. The joys of aging after having wrestled and played soccer. The combo I'm sure did some longterm damage...

Glad to hear your knee is feeling good today. Luckily for my joints I wasn't good enough to make it past JV soccer in HS.

Yeah, I'm going to focus on short races through August and then get ready for a marathon in Nov, probably Chickamauga again. I seem to run well there.
