Felt kind of poopy and not mentally into the race today.  I ran the 3.5 miles to the race and never got into it, like I usually do.  I don't know for sure why.  I almost didn't even start because I felt so out of it.  But I started and ran mostly 6:30s.  It is a hard core course, with one giant hill repeated twice and several mini giants repeated as well.  So without my head really into the race, I didn't have a chance for a decent race.

But I hung on and races the guy who won the masters division for 7.5 or so.  But I had nothing and just hung on after that. I did win a nice mug for winning my age group at least.

on to my 50K next weekend.  I can't be a wuss for that one.

thanks SLick and Teena - I'm a little sore this morning, which means I put some effort into it yesterday at least. Have a great Sunday!

For not having your head into this tough race with a hilly course, your time is very impressive! CONGRATZ on the remarkable effort and winning your AG! Consider it a great workout getting you psyched up for the 50K. Go get'em Tim! :)

I agree with Slick. Next week's race is the important one. Congrats on the AG win despite not feeling it.

1st place isn't sooo bad. Good to get the poopy out of the way before your 50k.

Good luck!

Yeah Fly it is all relative. I don't mind taking first of anything anytime. Indeed

The race on Sat. should be interesting. I'm not really trained for 50K but it'll be good to go there again...

From fly on the Wall on Tue, Apr 12, 2011 at 19:34:52 from 204.113.19.47

I learning that non-goal races that I haven't trained well for can be lots of fun so long as my expectations match my training.

From timp on Tue, Apr 12, 2011 at 19:41:05 from 144.188.24.25

yeah Fly - I honestly just want to have fun. No expectations. I'd like to break 6 hrs as that seems to be a decent goal for this course, but I won't cry if I don't make it.

From fly on the Wall on Tue, Apr 12, 2011 at 19:45:52 from 204.113.19.47

My money is on you breaking 6.

From timp on Wed, Apr 13, 2011 at 12:18:37 from 144.188.24.30

i hope you are right - cause I really don;t want to go more than that...
