Just got back from my run for the day.  I ran my longest run since the marathon on nov 14th...i have time for 22 and 24 in the next two weeks.  I took my handheld with some new amino drink that I had a free sample that I got from one of the websites I go to.  It was ok.  It tasted a little sweet and was wet.  i think most of those products might be good and all, but are mostly mumbo jumbo. 

Anyway, ran a LOT of the ING race route. i wish i could get a hold of the sadistic s.o.b. who designed this course.  there is  absolutely no let up at any point. 
i have a little twinge in the left foot - a new area of pain - shooting pain one time but it held up as long as i didn't make any weird cuts or landings.

I forgot what a real long run feels like afterward.  I think I went a little too fast, but it just felt like I was moving along comfortably. 

I think if I get in two more before the race that will help me a lot.  The first 20 miler is always the hardest for me.  I need to HTFU.

Your down for a while and then just...BANG! You throw down a 20+ miler averaging 7:17. Wow. I'm envious. I hope the foot thing is nothing.

it was the weather, man...60 degrees and sunny.

63 tomorrow - i'm loving it. got the grill going right now. need to go torch some meat :)

Are you icing your foot? If it was a zing like shooting pain it is a pain I often get when there's a bit of inflammation down there and a nerve gets bumped.

Seriously ... unbelievably fast.

thanks Teena - I didn't ice it. It was a sharp pain when I was turning a sharp turn, so I'm thinking it is just some tired tendons and ligaments at the end of the run. The foot didn't feel bad after the run and the foot isn't any more sore than my legs today, so I think I'm ok. I don't need a nagging injury right now, that's for sure.

BTW - awesome run yesterday as well. I'm just trying to keep up with all you hard core people on the board. :)

WOW! What a blazing fast 20+ miler!!! You sure woke up some dormant stuff. Happy to hear no issues the day after. Your next 20+ miler will be SO SO SO SO easy! And your race will be a blast!

Dang! Nice 20-miler...I'm not sure you could harden up any more. Glad that little twinge went away. Some day, you really need to run an easy marathon course and see what kind of PR you could get. :)
